Baby C's momma came to me when C was 4.5 weeks old. By most people's standards, he is still a newborn... but by a photographer's standards he was already growing up! He really is growing up too... he was about 12lbs by the time C came to me! And with that big baby came an alert and strong little fellow! He was so interested in what I was doing that he stayed awake nearly the whole time! I can already tell he is going to be a socialite who wants to be sure he doesn't miss out on any of the fun!

Mom wanted mostly black and white's so the first few are in black and white. I just wanted to show a couple in color as well!

Here's big brother D, while we were waiting for C to fall asleep: We tried getting one of them together, but it proved harder than we had hoped for.

My Grandpa wanted to live forever, and he came pretty close... 99 1/2! He left a lot in his legacy, but the greatest was his love for my Grandma! Their love for each other shined brightly every day of their nearly 52 year marriage. I was lucky to see glimpses of this love when I was with them. The way he continued to chivalrously open her doors every chance he had. The way they embraced hands as they walked through the grocery store. The way she cupped her hands on his face when they would kiss. The way he lead her through a room with his hand on the small of her back. The way they danced... Oh, the way they danced!!! I loved seeing them dance! He would hold onto her proudly and with a smile as big as the room he would move around the dance floor as if to show her off to everyone! And she would beam with the same amount of pride! It seemed that they wanted to show everyone how joyous marriage could be, it certainly was joyous for them! Two years ago I took a visit to Atlanta to visit my grandparents. I knew it could be the last time I'd see Grandpa alive, after all he was 97. I insisted on taking pictures... I wanted to capture the love! I DID!

I went back for a follow-up session with S two weeks later, and Baby G was just 1 week old! She was absolutely the tiniest baby I have EVER photographed! She was 5lbs 2oz when she was born! Such a tiny petite little thing! And she was PERFECT! I know I always say this about the newborns I have, maybe I just have the magic touch! But seriously, G is the 2nd baby in a row to not even soil anything while nakey! That NEVER happens, and first baby J and now baby G! I will count my blessings... I met up with S less than 1 week before she was going to be induced, just in time to capture her beautiful and perfect maternity figure! Gah! If I looked this great pregnant, I would have been pregnant more! LOL! Congrats S on your baby girl! I cannot wait to meet her!

Here is a picture with S and her mom who passed away several years ago of breast cancer. It was important for S to get a picture with her in it. I am so glad we did!

The waiting is almost over! I am sooooo excited! This is the 3rd and last maternity session of my brother and sister-in-law before our newborn session of Tallulah! I am so excited I could shout it from the mountain tops! See, if you don't know already, my brother and sister-in-law tried for 7 years to become parents! They have been parents all these years, they just didn't have a baby to show for it, and finally their dream has come true! We only have 3-1/2 more weeks to wait to meet this much anticipated baby! God is so good! And our family has been blessed!

Did I mention that I cry every time I take their picture??? And I am a mess of tears right now! The happiest tears I have ever cried!

I loved this one in color, and then I accidentally saw it in black and white and LOVED it even more! Am I crazy to love this one in black and white more than color? I mean, it's a field, at sunset... shouldn't that be a color image???

My Sweet Girl Turns Eight! Happy Birthday!

How did eight years fly by so fast? I feel like I need to go back and take more pictures, and definitely get more video! I NEVER take video, and I have missed so many of those sweet little voices and the cute little sayings. Like when she use to call ketchup "gigup" and when she use to wiggle her tongue back and forth making a blubbering noise which meant banana. That was soooo adorable! Or when she would pick up things as light as a feather and make a strained face and say "hea-vy, hea-vy, hea-vy". Also, those special moments with her Great Grandma... the princess tea parties they would have together and even those quiet moments of silence they shared together. They loved each other so much, as though they were connected at the soul! I want a rewind button! I wanna go back and relish in those moments! But sadly, we can only go forward, and most of the time it feels like the fast forward button is on! I just pray that I am raising her right! That she will grow to be a woman of God who is gentle and loving to everyone she encounters. That others would see her sweetness and want to slow down their time with her also!

I met with this mother and son for a quick photo shoot. They were the auction winners of a fabulous event in Riverside called "Shop to Stop" which is a fundraiser that provides free mammograms to women who need them. The event is held each March in Riverside. Thank you M for supporting such a great cause!

This mom and son were so adorable. I love it when you can see a boy who is growing older but still genuinely loves his mom. You can tell he protects her and cares for her almost as much as she does for him!

Little D was a perfect model for me! She is so beautiful and comes with all those adorable newborn squeaks! I loved every little peep... it brought me back to the days when my girls were newborns.

Most people believe newborns don't smile and that it is just gas when they do, but D was in her daddy's hands when he got her nearly giggling at just 2 weeks old! She is such a daddy's girl and I think he knows it and LOVES it!

Thanks to this little one's paternal Grandma, I had the pleasure of meeting sweet L when she was just 12 days old! She was a perfect baby. Slept most of the time and when she was awake she never cried! And look at how beautiful she is! She was perfect in every way! She even smiled for me! I love newborn smiles... like a treasure!

I call these praying feet! LOL! I just loved the cute little position they were in, so I had to grab a shot!

The Beautiful G kids | Irvine Children's Photography

I photographed these beautiful children just 1 day before they moved across country... and I must say, after meeting them for just a few hours, I am so sad to see them go! I would have loved to continue a working relationship with the G family. They were such a warm, loving family. I love it when I can see so much love between siblings in so little time! You could tell that M totally admires her big brother, and P would do anything to protect her! They have a perfect sibling relationship from what I saw in the short session we had together!

While I adore M's smile, I just loved the serious look in this one!

for this next picture I asked M to give me something sassy... I love when they deliver!

I really love the sun haze in this one. It just feels like summer to me!

I was lucky enough to photograph this beautiful family down at Laguna Beach! Everything about this session was fabulous! Little A thought I was hystercial, (I try, but some are harder than others! LOL! And when all else fails, I have candy! hehehe!) and even though his little sister M didn't fall so easily for my wacky antics she still cracked a smile when it mattered! Field of Dreams | The Sweetest Boy in the World!

Last week I photographed sweet D at my favorite field. He really is one of the sweetest little guys I have ever met! We were buds right away and he was such a good listener! He made my job so easy! You can tell that his behavior is the result of some great parenting! Thank you D for being so great!

I brought these Costa Mesa kids to my favorite yellow field in Irvine. M & L were a photographer's dream! They were absolutely perfect! I mean really, really, really perfect!
